The Journey Behind Academi Services: From Humble Beginnings to Industry Innovator

For as long as I can remember, the transportation industry has been part of my DNA. My dad spent years behind the wheel as a Greyhound driver, and his stories from the road sparked my early interest in the industry. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to be part of something that moved people—literally and figuratively. But I never imagined it would lead to creating Academi Services, a company that's transforming how businesses handle compliance, testing, and transportation regulations.

After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, a decision that shaped my future in ways I couldn’t have predicted.

There, I learned two critical skills that would guide me through every stage of my career: attention to detail and the importance of documentation. Whether it was keeping mission records or adhering to strict protocols, I understood that success often lies in the details others might overlook.

My path took a turn when I joined the police department, bringing my love for transportation with me. As a police officer assigned to the traffic division for over a decade, I gained specialized knowledge in accident investigation, commercial motor vehicle (CMV) enforcement, and court testimony. I witnessed first hand the complexities and challenges businesses face when dealing with compliance. This experience planted the seeds of what would later become Academi Services.
